Landfill Tax Escalator

Disposal of active waste after 1 April 2009 increased by £8 per tonne to £40 per tonne, it has now been announced that this escalator rate of an additional £8 per tonne per year will continue for a further two years meaning it will hit £72/tonne in 2013/14 per tonne. Rate after 1 April 2010 will be £48 per tonne, after 1 April 2011 will be £56 per tonne and after 1 April 2012 will be £64 per tonne reaching £72 per tonne after 1 April 2013.

 


 

 

 

Landfill Regulations 2002

Pre-Treatment of waste came into force 30-10-07. Meaning all waste producers must pre-treat their waste in conjunction with their responsibility under the Duty of Care regulations. The easiest solution for most companies is to recycle.
