View Nick & Al's progress - (DAILY BLOG)
Nick Perry (Production Director at Perrys Recycling) and Allan Quartley are riding from John O'Groats on the 29th May 2010 to Lands End. Their aim is to raise £10,000 for the two charities Alzheimer's Society & MacMillan Cancer Support.
'We take so much out of life. So this was the ideal opportunity to give something back and to try and help other people not so fortunate as us'
Allan had previously completed a 15,000 feet tandem parachute jump in 2008 (Action Man) and raised in excess of £1100 for the Alzheimer's Society. Allan's mother in law has been suffering from Alzheimer's for several years and is now in a nursing home. So it was easy to choose Alzheimer's again.
Nick decided to cycle for Macmillan Cancer Support. Nick's mother in law has been fighting cancer for many years and Macmillan Cancer Support are there to help and support cancer sufferers and their families all over the country. Most people will know a family member or friend who is or has suffered from this terrible disease.
All the staff at Perrys Recycling, suppliers and customers would like to wish them both ev
ery success, and the ladies will be keeping a close eye the website for regular photo updates, especially the tight Lycra shorts..!
